Write a customer review. By atakdoug on January 8, I have no difficulty telling Echo what to do with native functions, but this app simply doesn't recognize anything. No matter how carefully and clearly I enunciate it doesn't understand what stock symbol I'm trying to get it to quote, and even the selection of exchange — NASDAQ or New York — almost never worked.
That leads into a further problem, namely that it's silly to have to tell it "NASDAQ" at all, for symbols or stock names that are listed on only one of the exchanges, but that's a minor problem relative to not being able to use the app at all.
This is true for simple stock quotes, or teaching it what's in your portfolio; I gave up after a few minutes of trying to load a portfolio, at which point I had succeeded exactly zero times. I'm sure in theory this can be useful, but an app that's controlled by speech recognition has to recognize speech, and this one simply doesn't.

Hard for Alexa to differentiate certain letters. Would be better to give the actual company name, and then confirm if it has the correct one. Disappointing when compared to asking Alexa for the weather in XXXX city and it recognizes and gives the correct info.
By Avg User on January 1, I'd really love this skill to work which is the only reason it got 2 stars vice zero. Unfortunately, it will currently drive you to frustration trying to enter even the smallest list of stocks verbally.
App simply doesn't understand no matter how many times one repeats a stock symbol.
Would be great if one could just enter the list manually on a website or, even better, simply link to a Yahoo Finance portfolio. By pugmomof4 on December 31, Needs to be a way to add the symbols thru the app.
Alexa cannot discern the spoken symbols. Disappointing, since the concept is great. By David on March 18, Incredibly difficult to add stocks. No matter how clearly I enunciated many of them it still couldn't understand. And apparently there is no easy way to delete individual stocks and replace them with the ones you want. Especially important as she can only keep 10 stocks. Unfortunately a pretty useless app with so much promise.

By LC on January 25, I've had the same issues as others -- it is frustrating to enter stocks into the portfolio and then impossible to delete ones that you don't want once they've been added. I'd really like this to work, as it would be useful. By William Eisenhauer on December 6, Would be great IF: Alexa could hear individual letters correctly, but it really can't very well. It needs to be be smarter at interpreting intention rather than just saying "nope".
So please let us ask for the stocks by trading name, or give us a way to override what she is trying to put in the portfolio. Very frustrating app at this point.
