cannot make video calls with skype for my mac

The only issue that I still have is that I am a heavy user of Skype, as I work with people scattered across the globe, but I am unable to make video calls at the moment.

The camera also works in Cheese without any problem. However, when I initiate a call, the camera button is crossed and I cannot enable my webcam. Is there something I can do? Thanks a lot, Nicolas.
